Training Descriptions
Basic On-Line Orientation - (BOO) Click here for BOO training
This is a "jump start" to Basic Leadership Training I. This on-line self study course focuses on Girl Scouts history, program goals and structure on the National and Worldwide levels.
Approximate time: 1 hour, can be split into separate sessions.
Basic Leadership Training I - (BLT I)
*within 6 months of appointment
This training will focus on the history, program goals and structure of Girl Scouting in the USA and in Treasure Trails Council, specifically. It is suggested that this training be taken within 6 months of appointment to a leadership position, preferably prior to beginning meetings with a troop.
Approximate time: 3 hours
Basic Leadership Training II - (BLT II)
*within 6 months of appointment
This training will focus on the knowledge and skills needed to lead a specific age level troop (IE: Daisys or Juniors, etc). It is suggested that this training be taken after Basic Leadership Training I. This training should be completed within 6 months of appointment to a leadership position and each time a leader switches levels.
Approximate time: 3 hours
Trip & Travel Workshop
This workshop is for troop adult volunteers who will be taking their girls on trips or traveling outside of their community. This is a prerequisite for Outdoor Skills Training
Approximate time: 3 hours
Outdoor Skills Training
This training is required for at least one adult in any troops who wish to take their girls camping. Adults and Studio 2B girls may attend.
Approximate time: 1-3 days
American Red Cross Certified First Aid/CPR
This training will certify members in First Aid and CPR through the American Red Cross Organization. There is a fee attached to this training. Space is always limited and paid registration is required.
Approximate time: One session - 8 hours Two sessions - 4 hours each
